EECS Lounge Privacy Protection Policy
The College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at National Tsing Hua University (hereinafter referred to as "the College") has established the EECS Lounge advisory and support appointment platform (hereinafter referred to as "the Platform") to facilitate services for alumni and students. The primary purpose of this platform is to provide matchmaking and supporting services among alumni, faculty, and students of the College. The main users of this platform are faculty, students, and alumni of the College.
To ensure that users can use this platform with confidence, this Privacy Protection Policy is hereby provided. When you enter your student ID or employee number on the platform and submit your information, it will be deemed that you have read and agreed to this Privacy Protection Policy and consented to the collection, processing, and use of your personal data as described below. Scope of the Privacy Protection Policy
The content of this Privacy Protection Policy applies to the collection, processing, use, and protection of personal data when you use the Platform's services. However, this policy does not apply to external webpages linked from the Platform (including but not limited to external webpages, video links, pop-ups provided by the Platform or third parties, or external webpages and video links shared by users). It also does not apply to vendors or third parties not commissioned by the College.
If you provide personal data to apps, websites, links outside this platform, or to vendors or third parties not commissioned by this platform, this platform will not be able to retain any records, and your personal data may be collected, processed, and used by third parties. In addition, during the agreed period, any conversations conducted through in-person meetings or external video links are considered external activities, and this platform will likewise be unable to retain any records. If you voluntarily provide personal data to the aforementioned links or personnel, resulting in any damages, whether to yourself or a third party, this institution shall not bear any liability for damages. Categories, Scope, and Purpose of Data Collection, Processing, and Use
Purpose of Data Collection and Categories of Personal Data:
To provide services on the Platform, manage the Platform, expand the scope and content of services, and facilitate mutual assistance and communication between alumni, faculty, and students (hereinafter referred to as "the Purpose of Collection"), the College needs to collect personal data such as your name, student ID/employee number, department and year, and contact information (including email):

When you log into the Platform, the College will automatically collect your name, student ID/employee number, and department/year.

In addition to the above, you may freely choose the services you require and provide specific personal data accordingly. If the personal data requested is optional, you may choose whether to provide it. However, for services that require personal data, failure to provide such data may result in the Platform being unable to offer the related services.

Additionally, when you browse the Platform without logging in, the system will record all your activities, including but not limited to your IP address, usage time, browsing, and click records, as a reference for improving the Platform's services. However, the system will not record any personally identifiable data.
Scope and Methods of Personal Data Use:
During the operation of the Platform, the College and its staff will process and use the personal data you provide within the scope of the Purpose of Collection, in compliance with relevant regulations such as the Personal Data Protection Act.
Since the College commissions vendors or collaborates with personnel to maintain, improve, and optimize the Platform, these vendors may use your personal data while providing the aforementioned services.
Protection of Data
The Platform's servers are equipped with firewalls, antivirus systems, and other relevant information security equipment and necessary protective measures to ensure that data is not illegally intercepted during transmission.
